Hello

I have a 99 sportsman that ran great until the fan gave up and hot light came on. I replaced the fan but the hot light keeps coming on now when pushing the bike hard. I flushed rad. fins clean, cleaned all connections, lots of coolant but when the hot light comes on the coolant is not boiling.
any suggestions

Disconnect the sensor on the head of the motor. With the motor fully cooled run the bike shortly (30 seconds or so max from start to finish) and see if it flashes at you. If it still does then you probably have crossed wires somewhere. If the light stays off I suggest changing the sensor and plugging it back up and seeing what happens. Had one do this but turned out to be bad sensor.

Thanks guys. Will check sensor when I get a chance.
@ bigshow850 not that hard just running flat out. just strange that it never overheated until the fan gave up the ghost.

Thanks all for the welcome will let you know how I make out.

As for now its moose hunting season and my new 850xp should do just fine.
