I just got a hot seat slip on pipe for my 2011 850 xp, I haven't put in on yet but I was wondering if I had to have a power commander v or something similar. It said on hot seats website that most models don't need a programmer but if needed baseline settings are provided. Well the instructions say it is highly recommended that fuel be added with a programmer then under that it says no baseline settings are available. Would that mean I'll be ok without a programmer? I don't have the money to spend on one right now so in hoping to get away without. If I just read the plugs and they look the right color is that good enough? Thanks.

You do not need to run a programmer with just a slip on. If you ran a full exhaust and intake you would need to run one. The 850xp runs fat (rich) from the factory so you will be fine.
