hey guys i have a 98 425 magnum 2x4 and the sheeve on the primary has cracked and a chunk of it is missing. i found one to replace but it's a non ebs primary, how can i tell if mine is ebs or not. the cover has been replaced on mine before i got it with a after market cover so is there any other way to tell without being able to take it down a big hill?

Just a guess but maybe check the vin #. Ask a dealer to run the vin and see.

There isn't even an EBS option for your machine on the microfiche. I don't remember what year EBS started but you're probably pre-EBS. Should be good to go.

Simplest way.... look on the clutch cover. If it has EBS it will say it on the side

The previous owner may have changed the clutch on you if you're not the original owner.
As said above , check the center pulley on the primary clutch . If it turns separately from the sheaves one way, it's EBS.
Also , your bike would slow down noticeably when you let off the throttle if you had EBS.....
