Hello,

Have a 07 Sportsman 500 HO. Was wondering if there is a way to bypass the neutral/park safety switch so I can start the machine up in gear? I used to have a 04 Sportsman and I could start up in any gear. And when I got this ATV its a pain in the ass to have to put it in park all the time to start it. So is there any way to bypass this setup??

Thanks for your time!

it's probably in the computer, it sense's the oms in the shift senser only way to bypass it would be by taking the senser off move it to the park position, and zap strap it out of the way. not sure if your speedo will work after tho.

My 08 700 will start in any gear by pulling the hand brake not the foot brake
This is true. It even states this in the shop manual for the 07 700/800/x2. I don't have a shop manual for the 500 so I'm not sure if the 500 is designed any different, but I wouldn't think so...

It is probably tied to the brake light circuit that only works with the hand brake lever and not the rear foot brake.
