you can get some frog skin or similar product to go over the intakes, you can make inner fenders to keep water from splashing into the vents, or you can slow down when going through water.

There is a plastic drain plug in the bottom of the housing.

 

what are the intakes for exactly? can they be eliminated? i need a complete fix not something that is temporary or slow down for water.
Does anyone know of a kit offered or someplace in minnesota that can correct this .

 

No they cannot be eliminated. They are intake and exhaust to allow air into the belt housing to keep things cool. You could snorkel them and have them come out higher and in a direction that doesn't promote water ingestion. I'm sure at this point there is a kit available to snorkeling a 570.

 

put a snorkel kit on it , if they make one for the 570.

 

Are you sure it's getting in through the vents and not the rear seal on the clutch housing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that was an issue on the 570's?

 

You can LOOK inside the snorkel inlets and SEE if water is going in there. I'd suspect its coming in the not sealed inner cover like many of them.

 

Unless your going through water that is up to just the bottom of the seat it is probably not your air intake. I would check rear seal where PTO goes through housing or the seal where it bolts outer and inner half bolt together.

 

If you say you are getting water in there, even in shallow water, I would bet it is splashing up and into the snorkels. I would try Frogskinz on the intake and exhaust snorkels first. Great stuff, and really does work.

 

water splashing into the intake was something that was brought up a couple times on the early 570. If you're going to snorkel it, you might as well seal the back of the case, but if it's just splashing and you're not going above the bottom of the foot wells in water, the chances of ingesting large amounts of water through the rear of the clam shell are slim.

 

I have the same trouble. Belt slipped 4 times on one ride. Took it to dealer, they say nothing is wrong. I’m going through too deep water. Should have bought a Honda. Now I have to tear it apart, seal everything properly and put frogzskin on the intakes just to ride through puddles. This is a very frustrating problem for a $6k bike. I won’t be buying a Polaris again.

 

Had same problem. Dealers so quick to saw I swamped it. Than I showed video of me draining, going through an inch of water, than draining water for 20 seconds. Asked if they wanted me to publicly post the video and guess what, they found the issue with the seal BEHIND the clutch housing. Fixed under warranty and replaced belt. Unfortunately only lasted for 4 months. Out riding with 8 others all with Polaris and I’m the only one having problem, yet it’s my fault and not a defect. Sold the 570... tired of driving 2 hours to ride but only being able to watch everyone else tear it up. Definitely a problem they’re not acknowledging. Beyond frustrating

 

There is no "seal" behind the rear cover. it is a dry fit between the cover and the engine/Trans/Gear box. The fix is to seal the rear cover. There are a lot of videos on how to do this. youtube it.

 

There actually is what Polaris is calling a 'seal' connected to the inner cover, where the tie strap is supposed to help keep it sealed.
I have a 2014 570 and so far haven't had any water problems in the clutches.
