I installed a new fan on my 2005 sportman 500... it was working fine... I had to hardwire it previously because the connector broke (another story) it was working great... I fired it up yesterday and the hot light is flashing and the fan stays running... I have no clue what is wrong... can someone help me... thanks in advance... im trying to ride this weekend...

Call your local dealer with the VIN to see if it is under the recall. They had problems with ECMs on some of the "04", "05" & "06" Sportsmans and Scramblers. Look here Polaris ECM recall update for more info. Good luck, Buddy.

i know on mine there is a temp sensor on the left hand side of the bike on the engine. if that sensor fails the bike goes in a fail safe mode and the fan will run wild (constantly run).

The two posts above nailed it..... check ECM recall and/or temp sensor!
