My husband has a Polaris Sportsman 2 700. He passed away in Sept. I have been keeping the machine started every day. The temp dropped and today it won't start. I took the seat off looking for the battery to jump it and the battery is not there. Any idea where the battery is located on this machine. Thanks

on most polaris the battery is under the left rear wheelwell but on the twins i believe they are tucked in front of the engine on the left side.

sorry to hear for you loss

simply starting the machine will not keep the battery charged very well. without actual use and higher RPM's, the stator just doesnt put out enough juice to keep the battery up to full. your best bet is to get a battery tender, about $40. it will keep the battery charged and you can hook it up to your battery, plug it in and forget about it.

is the machine itself not turning over at all?

Battery is located in front of the engine. Remove the seat and the right panel. You should be able to see the battery.
