i bought a 1995 polaris magnum 425, the carb was removed, and trashed by the last owner. I bought one off ebay and installed all the cables, but i can not find a diagram anywhere that shows where the hoses go.
Can some one post a photo of the lines that come off their carb, and where they lead to.
Thanks!

OK one the second pic(carb). #1 and #2 are simply vent lines. Just run them as high as possible.
#3 is the main fuel inlet for the carb.
#4 Is a vacuum port that operates the fuel pump(picture 1).
I will need to look at mine to see the proper routing off the fuel pump.

ok I got it. On the fuel pump. #1 is running to the fuel tank.#2 runs to the carb main fuel inlet(#3 on carb pic). #3 runs to the carb vacuum port(#4 on carb pic)

And carb #1 and 2 are vents.

5-50 or 0-40 or something around there is what I use

I need help! I had to work on the carb and now that it's back on it's not pulling fuel from the tank. Does the fuel pump need priming?
I just rebuilt mine, I had to put the charger on and try starting it in for about 2 hours, 10 or so attempts every few minutes so I think it does, couldn't tell you how though. Make sure your vacuum hose has a good seal/no cracks so it pulls a good vacuum on the pump.

Did you confirm that the jets on the new carb match the 425? There was a guy selling brand new carbs on ebay that need the jets swapped out. You should check your jet numbers before you install the carb. Even with the wrong jets, you can usually get the engine to start because the idle jets are all real close in size. Anything of of idle will start to show problems.

The fuel pump needs vacuum to work. Getting the hoses crossed would mimic a fuel pump failure so you"ll need to confirm. If the above info doesn't solve your issue, post back and I'll chime in and get you sorted.

I posted a few attachments and info on the 425 carb a year or so ago that you may be able to find if you search my user name. One was an animated file you can find on youtube that explains the function of your carb.
