I take Fluid Film and spray a good amount on a terry cloth and wipe the whole frame with it. Then do the same for the inside/outside of the skids. Makes washing the dust/mud off really really easy and the film itself is water resistant so it likes to stay to the metal, tends to come off the paint after a few washes with the hose. Reason I do it though is the metal will wear the paint off the frame and rust will start forming. So I try to head it off with that. Something like Line-X probably would work really well too!
