Insurance

Well, after shopping around (about 6 different phone calls) I accepted the fact it would cost as much to insure my quad as it would my car. No shit.

I couldn't do it. Especially with so many of you paying such a small amount every year.

Naturally every time I'm towing it, I would start to ulcerate. Watch the occasional youtube ATV Crash Spectacle and I would ulcerate.

Then I saw this one:
Let me tell ya, when I saw the remains, I got to feelin' a little queesy. :puke:

That's it, I'm done ulcerating. I contacted USAA and had them work up a quote for my house, car, and quad. Outstanding. Switched from Allstate and now I'm ulcer days are behind me.

I just left USAA after 20 years. State Farm had better coverage for $266/ year less.

My USAA rates have gone up considerably, but I've called all the others and the only one that can beat them is Geico. Problem is, the coverage isn't the same. If I get them exactly the same, USAA is still cheaper. State Farm and Allstate were significantly higher for me....I do keep checking now though....trying to save wherever I can
Got to have it where I live. Full coverage if financed and liability if it is yours. State law in both states I ride in.

I have Progressive on my vehicles, Pekin Insurance on my business, Foremost on my investment property and State Farm on my home and trailers.
I pay $300 a year for a 2021 BMW R1250GSA and 2022 Polaris 850 Touring. I could not be any happier than I am with Geico and both quad a bike are fully covered.

I use a local broker that I have known for years from my professional life.

They have me with NY Central Mutual for HO, auto, and umbrella.
ATVs are now with Progressive.
My toys (2 Sportsman 570's and a 2009 Skidoo 1200) are with Nationwide. Wife had a bad accident on the ATV a couple of years ago..Nationwide was great with the medical issues and fast reimbursement.

Colorado, Enclave, Terrain, 570 and trailer all on Progressive.
Farmers insurance here . Very inexpensive.

paid out a lot on my previous wrecked machine
On an enclosed trailer I would have insurance

on an open steel trailer it’s not worth it in my opinion

Depends on the trailer. Some of the newer aluminum flatbeds are just as expensive as the enclosed.

Enclosed is the way to go tho, especially if you live in the rust belt.

Yeah I was just meaning steel 3-4K trailer

just can’t really damage it considering you weld It and paint it if there is a problem

on my enclosed I always do well when hail comes and it’s insured. Just sell it and buy another

I have everything (except the motorcycle) through Erie Insurance. House, cars, truck, and ATV. Erie doesn't insure motorcycles, so I go with Rider. The ATV is $125/year. The motorcycle, Yamaha Tracer 900, is $200/year.
In Winnipeg, Mb you buy basic insurance around $125.00 for the year and then add on Fire, Theft, collision insurance and min deductible is $500.00 and includes 1 million liability insuranc.
I pay $25.19 a month and that covers my trailer and all of my toys on the trailer (4-wheelers & motorcycles) for theft, fire, accident.
