Got bored a couple of weeks ago and decided to install some green LED lights under the fender wells (attached to the frame) on the four wheeler. Also ran a fuse between the switch and the positive terminal on battery. I originally started with just 2 pods but decided that wasn't enough so I ordered two more and re-wired everything. All that is left to do is drill the hole in the headlight pod for the switch to rest. The picture quality sucks due to using my iPhone and the pictures at night don't show it off very well at all. It looks pretty bad ass at night. Not bad for a mod around $25.


This is the switch and light pod that I used off of eBay. (About $3.00)

Here are the green LED pods from eBay: ($6.50 x 2)

Here is the Fuse holder I ran between positive terminal and positive side of switch. (About $3.00 from autozone + some extra wire)

Its only noticable when I'm on the throttle and flip the switch to turn them on. :racer:

Cool Lights

After seeing yours I went out and purchased a couple of blue PODs. Got any tips regarding installation?
How did you attach them to the frame? I'm thinking of using epoxy.

I don't believe that these lights will really make my 550 any faster but I have it on good authority that they will improve gas mileage by 10%

The tip that someone gave me, was take the battery out and wire everything just to be safe. Also, if you look at the picture of the LED's that I posted above, there are some holes on the sides of it. I attached mine with self tapping screws into the frame. I'm going to try to get some more updated pictures of them (better than the shitty iPhone ones)

Here are some more updated pictures (with the crappy iPhone). I tried to wait until almost dark, and use the flash. You still can't tell how cool it looks when it is totally dark, but you can get a little better of an idea with these. I tried taking pictures in the dark, but they didn't turn out very good.

Man that is a great looking mod!

By the by, Would look even cooler if you placed a few pointing directly at the inside of your rims so they flicker green as the light is caught by the shiny parts.

Yeah, I didn't think about that. The ATV is kind of on the back burner now since it is exactly how I want it (may install some HD springs and thats it). Just bought a golf cart last weekend, so that is the new focus (lift, wheels, tires, utility bed, etc...). I will probably end up wiring some similar LED lights on it also. :tongue2:
