I was wondering if anyone knows if a switch from a 2010 POLARIS SPORTSMAN 850 XP will work on my 99 magnum 500 i called a Polaris Dealer and he said he doesn't know if it would i can't find any cross reference info online your help would be appreciated

Does the 99 Kill switch incorporate the starter switch?
The 2010 does not. You could install a pushbutton somewhere else to run the starter.

Thanks guys went to Polaris and looked at different ATVs and found out from what Polaris is saying only 1999 to 2001 switch will work thanks again for the info...

Doubt it would plug in but if you got the wiring right there's no reason it won't work. May even be the same colored insulation for easy splicing. I'd find out how many wires the 2010 has and try it

If your talking about the switch its easy to change first remove the handle grip then on back of switch you will see a round black plug on the backside use a allen key or hex key to loosen the switch then unplug wires then remove to install just do it in reverse order if that helps

Kinda it's just that there was no switch to begin with. Hopefully it's plug and play

if you got the year of the atv it should work okay mine i got off ebay worked for me easy to install though..

Looks like it the right one for model A99BG38CA SCRAMBLER 400 mine was different from yours i cant tell if you can unplug it from the switch of if you have to hook up all the wires

So ion trying to install this dam switch and looks horrible. On the switch module it has 8 wires plus 2 on a separate loom, but the 2 wiring harnesses on scrambler has 6 on loom and 5 on an other. What the hell do I do?

The switch you have pictured IS NOT for a 2010 850. It has the kill and start switch integrated on the same switch. It IS a picture of the switch you need though. There's a couple of them on ebay but they are pricey.
