Hey all! Thought I'd start a thread about lighting upgrades. I've noticed the lights on these 1000 XP really seem to draw a bunch of power - I was surprised to see a 20amp fuse for the lights. I decided to swap all my bulbs out for LEDS, and I plan on adding a 12" LED light bar in my front bumper, and a rear light as a work light/reverse light.

I noticed the tail lights act really weird, the brake lights are fine but I can't seem to get running lights to work with LED. I'll need to do a little more research.

Let's see your lighting setups, and share your plans!

Here's my 3 LED headlights:

I did the same; LED light bulbs and I have a 14" LED Lightbar up front as well as a Bluetooth connected LED whip flag that can change colors, etc.

Looks good! I've always been curious in the difference between single row and double row light bars.

Going to try and put an 8 inch bar on front bumper and got two 4 inch cube floods for the back but can't figure out where to put the 4 inch cubes on back. Also trying to figure out where or how to run/hide wires for the front.

2017-2019 LED headlight bulb fitment issues

Here is a prototype we made to fix the LED headlight clearance issue on the newer Sportsman's. We made a cut out template for each side and a "bucket" or "insert" that fits in the hole. We used black butyl tape for installation. So far so good, keeps water & debris out.

Thinking of trying these as a cheap starter bulb:

So far great. Remember using flashlights with a couple of D batteries? That’s what the OE bulbs looked like compared to the LED’s. A much more white light. And brighter. When I first saw them on Ebay I think he was asking $20.00 for two, but accepted $16.00 on bid. Now he’s asking for $16.00 and still accepting bids. Maybe he’ll take $14.00 for two. If you have 2 bikes just buy 3 sets as you’ll need 6. BTW I did the Sylvania Zevo 3157R upgrade for the taillights. That to was a worthwhile upgrade. I tried another brand and it didn’t work, Zevo’s first try. Much lower draw for all lights now.

In my experience to make an LED output high lumens they really need a good heat sink and/or a fan. In our application a fanless would be best.

It's hard to trust the lumen specs from these import vendors, but the true high output ones make heat so they have a large heat sink. Many are claiming 3-4,000
