Hi, I just picked up a Polaris 500 4X4 for my new property. Anyway when I ride at night the lights turn off while I'm riding. If you turn it off and then start it again they come back on, or usally after a couple of minutes they will come back on. Followed the wire the best I could and everything looks okay. Is it the switch? Also, how do I change the spark plug?

i might be shootin in the dark here but there should be a relay on there some were. it sounds like it gets weak as it warms up. mabe some one can verify if it has a relay cause im not 100% shure. or it may have a self reset breaker. it is unlikly to be the switch if they are turning on.

Depending on what year your 500 is, the cooling fan is tied in with the low beam lights. Also check the wiring around the voltage regulator. Your high beams are tied in with the DC outlet (cigarette lighter). Do you have the problem with high and low beam or just one or the other?
