If you're only using the ramps for 1 atv, or 1 size and brand of ATV (For example Polaris Sportsman XP 550 & 850 and Value line 400, 500, 570, 800, Etc. share a similar track width) than you can make spreader/spacers for your ramps that keep the ramps from moving in or out in relation to each other while loading. This greatly increases the safety of the ramps. as one side can't move outward/inward form the other and the ATV come off the ramps. As it's been noted, ALWAYS attach the ramps to the vehicle/trailer to prevent them from sliding forward/backwards while unloading/loading. Get to aggressive on the throttle and you're likely to launch a ramp out the back before your all the way onto the truck/trailer. Heavy braking can have the same effect while unloading, or the reverse effect while loading. Wear a helmet and go slow are the safest ways to do it. always use the longest ramp available as the longer ramps creates a much lower angle of assent/decent. and the lower the angle, the safer the loading process.
