Your best bet would be to search your local Craig's List ads..... for that price you'll likely find a 1996-1999 Sportsman 400 ??

Good Luck in your search!

$1500 ATV's can be nightmares. Save more cash or maybe trade something as well unless you are super mechanical but even then parts are not cheap

Where are you located? That might help people respond to your ad.
I have a 2001 Sportsman 400 4x4 but it needs some work. If it will ever warm up im gonna fix it. It is in Arkansas.
Thanks

IDK about that, I paid $1800 for my 95' xplorer 400 4x4 and it was one of the best atv's Ive ever owned.

That view might be correct for those who would have to hire a shop to do the required rebuilding. We got an OK 2001 4x4 Magnum 325 last summer for $1500 and a very nice/tight 2002 twin to it except for the bad rod and crank due to a blown oil line for $500 as a project ATV.

It looks like locally the ATV's ready to go with little to know needs are in the $3000-$3500 range.

They can be found at or near that price but it is difficult. Hope you have the time to be very patient...
