Looking at 28" ITP blackwaters

I have holes and plugs in my stock duro power grip already, 200kms. I don't want huge tires since I ride pretty fast trails and don't do alot of mudding but all I can get locally is 28x9x14 and 28x11x14 in these tires. My stocks don't even measure close to 27 so I'm wondering if 28" is to tall. Anyone have pics of this set up. I'm on a 2023 sportsman 1000xp.

You’re good. 28’s fill the wheel wells nicely and look right on that machine. The Blackwaters are good tires as well.

Ok sounds good. I'd say 75% of my riding is faster trails and dirt roads so I didn't want to suffer like some of the guys I ride with that have larger tires.
The way you ride they are a fairy aggressive tire. The flatter the profile and the closer the lugs, the better for faster and smother ridding on hard pack with better hookup. Just something to think about.
I'm looking at 28" itp terra hooks, those and Bearclaw HTR's are really the only none mud tire that are made in 28" that are 9" and 11". Evething else is 10" all around.

I don't have any experience with the ITP Blackwater but I picked up some 28" Kenda Bearclaw HTRs last year for my 2022 XP1000 that I've loved so far. I'm a hard pack/trail rider and these have been smooth and strong. I did experience slight rubbing if I was going fast enough to bottom out over small jumps or anything like that, so I had to crank my preloads all the way up but I'm a big dude and I felt the machine rode better that way anyway so I don't mind.

Blackwater are heavy and did poorly in a tire test.
The second video he said that the Blackwater did poorly.
You'll also find videos that say Blackwaters perform well. My buddy has the 27's on his Scrambler 850 and he primarily rides fire roads, some technical rock trails and the odd mud hole here. He loves them. Good traction, good wear and good handling. I've ripped on his machine a few times and don't have anything bad to say with my limited experience.

There not one because the Blackwater didn't make the top 8.

Do a YouTube search and you’ll find tons of videos on any tire you want, good, bad and ugly. Just because you found a video from 2018 that tested 25” tires and placed them outside of the top 8 doesn’t mean that’s the gospel on tires.

I know my ITP XTR that I have on my Sportsman XP1000 all 4 - 27x11x14 was on the list at 7 and in my mind they are the best for my needs and they are heavy but that was one thing I was looking for.
