Took the top cover off the thumb throttle and a small spring flew out. I put an old carb spring I had cut down but should I get a new one? Works great what’s it even for??

I think I will keep the old cab spring in there. Do you know what that does?
Yes it causes a large plume of profanity to be expelled when it flies off into the air.

When it’s behaving it keeps tension on one of the wired contacts for the stuck throttle kill circuit.

Yeah - it is not a replacement part - you have to buy a throttle assembly to get one - if the one you made works as the throttle was designed to work, then kudos on your mechanical expertise.

I have used the spring out of a Bic lighter on the end of my ice fishing rod to detect light bites!
