hi polaris forum!

i am working on a 96 magnum 425 that was brought to me not running.. i fixed the starter, cleaned the carb and put fresh gas in it and it runs great.. after doing that the owner wanted me to sort out why the 4x4 wasnt working.. i managed to trace most of the problem to the gear position switch, it was pulled back too far and was only showing N. so after i fixed that i had 4x4 in reverse with the overide button held in, and nothing going forward.. i have power coming from the switch in L and H but 4x4 isnt working, and i think some wiring is on the wrong pin up on the wiring block on the left side below the bars..

does anyone have a wiring diagram of where on that block the wires are supposed to be? i think its the grey wire from the N switch, where they had it the R light would be on in H and L.

thanks

The junction block is grouped in sections and has writing on the board to tell you what color hooks where. You might need to clean the dirt and dust of of it so you can see it.

Ill tell you how I fixed my 97-425, find a spade terminal that gets hot with the key, run a wire from that to both red wires for hubs, the awd switch will still turn it off and on but you wire around the gear switch, mine has been like this for a long time, never had any trouble since I did it

wiring problem or possibly stator going bad. I bought a 96 magnum with most of the wires cut out. don't know how they ran it without the fan not cooling the radiator. anyway..managed to attach most of the wiring. but it only has power going in from battery. i used probe to check any electrical coming from stator by control panel but none of the wires are hot.I attach the red wire to the battery and everything has power ,but i cant find the wire that supplies power back to battery . none of the yellow wires from stator that run the light have power. I need atleast one hot wire to run the cooling fan. no power from stator but just have enough to get spark to spark plug wire.
HELP!!
