Hi Everyone!

I recently purchased a 1999 Magnum 500 ($1,000) that is OK mechanically but I can tell has not been maintained well. It runs great, trans WAS a bit "grindy" but solved that problem adjusting down the idle speed. Body is rough but that doesn't bother me.

My Question is.

Since this machine is a 1999 and has 10K (+/-) on the clock, I want to do all the preventative maintenance I can before I start doing any trail riding. I have done all the basics like fluid changes and lubrication everywhere I could find a zirk fitting. Is there any service that the would be recommended before putting this quad into service?

Thanks!
BBA

The only thing I can think of right off is to pull the plug and see how it's running. If you have a nice straw color, then you are good, go have fun. If not, then that can lead you to some other stuff to look at.
