I have a very similar bumper step to the one in the picture except mine is 24" wide. I have had people sit on that (with a piece of cardboard between their butt and the steel) when installed on the back of my custom raised ATV hitch and have never had a problem. Take in mind though I do have the heavy duty High lifter Springs all the way around.
