I was wondering what kind of motor assembly lube anyone recommends. Good buddy of mine uses Ultra Slick, he swears by it. Says it doesn't fowl the plug out, just smokes for a bit till it burns off. Any other suggestions?

Started years ago in a VW shop. Only had the air cooled engines and around the first year of rabbits. The engine builder only used STP and WhiteLube mixed on the bearings and lobes. Engine oil and STP on the jugs and rings.

Been a GM heavy line tech for 37 years. I use Lubriplate No. 105 Assembly lube on everything (bearings, pistons, rings, lifters, cams and cam bearings). Basically if it's internal and contacts something else, it get some Lubriplate. Look here for a Reference No. 105 Motor Assembly Grease - Lubriplate . It is available at most parts houses also.
