My brother took my dad's 4-wheeler (2008 Sportsman 500 Touring) trail riding today. It ran perfectly- always has. My sis-in-law started it up drove it to the campground restrooms and when she tried to start it again... NOTHING. No "dead battery" click, no dash lights, nothing.
My dad is driving 2 hours to hopefully help them in the morning. I need help, so I can help him.
My ideas:
1. Fuse
2. Battery cable fell off
3. Engine cut off "went bad"
4. Ignition broken

Any other ideas? #1 & 2 are easy fixes. Any way to check #3 & 4?

BTW, I really talked you guys up and told my dad, "these guys will be able to help" :veryhappy:
Thanks a bunch,

First I would check the voltage of the battery. If it is 12.5 volts then the computer(s) should be happy. Newer stuff may play dead if it does not see a min voltage. The battery may have developed an internal short even. Just start at the battery and work out would be ideal it seems. The truck died a few weeks ago and I dived off the deep end. The two screws that holds on the rotor button under the distributor cap had come loose. It is a $15 fix in the end. :)
