Need some help with scrambler 50 fuel issue

03 scrambler 50. Recent new parts previous owner replaced... carb all fuel lines/petcock/filter, coil, air filter, battery. Its a Clean machine, starts and runs for a min then slowly sputters and dies. You can see there is barely any fuel in the fuel filter. I pulled the lines off the petcock and fuel flows good. I'm trying to verify that the previous owner hooked lines up correctly. From what I can see, this is a gravity fed fuel system do there's no vacuum lines. I even bypassed rhe fuel filter and still does the same thing. The carb isn't pulling for gas if that makes sense? Idk I just need to know if I overlooked something dumb. Thanks

Also I can use the choke to keep it running when it starts to die, doesn't always work though. If that makes any difference

Are you using fuel oil? It is a 2stroke being a 03 if im correct

Yes it is a 2 stroke oil injected

Generally it is a carb issue, but sometimes a new stator solves the problem

What would the stator have to do with fuel not getting to the carb? Or are you messing with me lol. All seriousness, shouldn't the carb be pulling fuel? I don't see any vacuum lines
The carb is gravity feed from the fuel tank to the float bowl - puel is 'pulled' through the jets by vacuum (negative pressure) - as engine speed increases the 'load' on the engine is increased, if the spark is not strong enough it will extinguish under increased compression and turbulence. Since the ignition is AC, the generating coils heat up due to increased demand for spark and may ultimately breakdown and fail to produce the spark necessary to ignite the mixture. Now air in the fuel filter is not a problem - fuel flows past the air and on to the carb, but if the float bowl is not vented properly, as the bowl fills, air pressure increases if not vented and at about 6 psi fuel stops flowing and the bowl may not be properly filled. But generally it will be a carb issue. If you buy a carb from Amazon for $20, buy 10 and maybe one of them will work properly. Buy a $45 carb from any other online Chinese parts vendor and it has a higher probability of working without hours of jetting calibration.

Do you happen to know what the stock jet sizes are? I can order another carb but I'd like to make sure I have the right jets as well.

Great. Thank you
Great. Thank you
I put the stock carburetor back in. Main jet 75 but I can't see any markings on the pilot jet. It's now getting gas but it still idles find then it will idle down low, doesn't always stall. Choke will bring the idle back up.

If I ride it i can get full rpms and sometimes if the rpms drop, then it just bogs when you hit the throttle. It came with a new chinese cdi but it has an extra wire...I tried hooking it up for the hell of it but it didn't sound right when it was cracking so I put the old one back in

So i cleaned the original carb and installed. Dielectric grease on cdi plugs. Original coil put back in, I had the air/fuel screw on carb 1.5 turns out from lightly seated (im used to full size quads usually 1.5 turns out lol) so I adjusted that to 1/2-3/4 turns out. Adjusted throttle cable. I think somewhere along the line one of those helped...it stopped idling down and will now do wheelies with my 190lbs haha
