Hi ,I recently purchased a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 600 and after plowing for a couple hours I got off the machine for a minute and then it stalled and now it won't idle it will run at about half choke but as soon as I shut it off the quad stalls or if I hold the throttle open it will backfire and run rough,I changed the plugs and added dry gas and still same problem? also I noticed the dash says "E" now, any help is greatly appreciated.

I have it idling now but noticed the Y pipe is bright red when warm and now running rough up top? found dirt in the bowl and the jet was clogged maybe need new jet?

Clean you carb good, sounds like you might still have some trash there. Red glowing exhaust is a good indicator of a lean condition, most likely from clogging in the carb. You shouldn't have to buy a new Jet.
