I received the Brush Guard today and they are exactly as advertised, original OE from Polaris. Simple installation with good, easy to follow directions. Took all of 25 minutes to install.

If you need a brush guard for you Sportsman (Years 2005-2010), you won't go wrong at the price of $99.00 (free shipping).

Do you think you could lift the machine by it or use it as a anchor for someone to pull you out with or tie the machine down by it. Or is it worth the extra money for the guru. For almost half the price I am considering getting one but don't want to be disappointed that it is only for looks

I have this brush guard on my machine. It is as tough as you would expect. I have hit plenty of objects (trees, rocks, other 4 wheelers and never has it bent on me. I've never pulled my machine or any other from a high point on the guard but i have from the lower cross bar and never had any issue. For the money, i think its a great product.

Personally, I did NOT purchase the brush guard as a towing or lifting accessory. As designed, the guard is made to protect the front of the machine, etc.

The guard is constructed of heavy tubing which extends out on both ends from the frame mounting plates. The mounting plates are fastened directly to the front frame members. As stated above, pulling on the center cross members escentially would be pulling on the main machine frame. I would NOT hook to or pull on the outer ends of the guard since they are not supported on the extreme outer ends, only on the center frame mounting plates, nor or they designed for that (pulling) purpose.

I agree, its a Brush Guard/Bumper. NOT designed to be lifted or towed with. Its designed to protect the body, lights and plastics from minor impact damage.

I recently say a video clip on here what a guy picked his machine up from the rack extensions...OMG, Any one who has mounted these likely cringed as I did... the freakin' things are mounted to PLASTIC!!! NEVER intended to lift a 800# machine!!!!!

Pulling with the quad should be done from the hitch in the rear. If pulling is needed from the front, use your winch if so equipt. I made a front recovery point off my sno plow mount. I chose this because, it mounts at various points of the frame, stretching the stresses involved over more than half the length of the underside of the frame.
