ok PEPOLE. HERE IS MY PROBLEM. i JUST BOUGHT A 1998 EXPLORER 300 4X4. IT LOOKS GREAT AND SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OF. I TEST DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND RODE IT HARD. IT DONE FINE. SO I BOUGHT. I GET IT HOME AND IT RUNS FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND DIES SLOWLY LIKE ITS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. ONLY WHEN ITS HOT. IT WILL START BACK BUT ITS HARD TO START. IT RUNS A MINUTE AND BOGGS OUT AGAIN. WHEN ITS COLD ITS DOES GREAT. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. ONE GUY TOLD ME THE RINGS COULD BE BAD AND ITS LOSING COMPRESSION. THAT WOULD BE VERY BAD SO IM HOPING SOMEONE HERE CAN TELL ME SOMETHING BETTER THAN THIS. I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE COMPRESSION HOT OR COLD YET BUT I JUST BOUGHT A NEW GAUGE AND WILL DO THAT TOMORROW. IF IT MATTERS THE BATTERY IS DEAD COMPLETELY AND I HAVE NOT PUT THE NEW ONE IN YET. ALSO ON TOMORROWS AGENDA. ANY INFO WILL HELP. THX IN ADVANCE!

They did have issues with the oil pump on the 300 models. I had just did one a couple of years ago Polaris paid for the parts and the customer paid for the labor. If you call me at 651-340-1129 Monday with your serial number I can check and see if it has every had any work done.
