I'm working on a 2002 magnum 500.its not getting any power when you turn the ignition switch on.the red wire to the switch has power. I bought a new ignition switch, put it on,and still nothing.guy on here told me how to jump wires on the kill switch, then jump wires on the ignition switch.it turned over when I did that, but I don't know what to do next.any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly - unplug the two plugs on the LH switch and short the red/blk to the red/wht wires - everything should work except the lights - the key switch should turn it on, start it and kill it - if it does, then the switch assy could be faulty or the wiring connectors may not be making good contact. There are replacement wiring pigtails available available as well as the LH switch assy.

Yes - there is two red/black wires and they run in parallel from the key switch to the LH switch - both wires have to break to cause a loss of power - generally it's the connectors at the LH switch that cause most problems - the LH switch connects the red/blk to the red/wht - red/wht is a single conductor (#24) back to the key switch where is splits to wire #23 - wire 23 goes to the accessory plug, split into wire 11 and 26 - wire 11 goes to a splice and splits into wires 48 and 58.

Wire 26 goes to the brake light switch, splits to wire 25 - 25 goes to the taillight and splits to wire 35 - 35 goes to the top transmission switch.

Wire 48 goes to the speedo and wire 58 goes to the hot lamp

OK - back to the beginning - you have power (12vdc) on the red wire at the key switch?

With all the wiring connected as it was from the factory, unplug the wiring from the key switch - jump the contacts on the wiring harness plug

First red to wht/red - this should cause the solenoid to close and the engine crank and verify the battery and power wiring is good and the engine may start. If you want to prevent the engine from starting, remove the spark plug wire or jump between the brn and blk wires of the key switch connector.

Second jump red to red/wht - this should give you lights - if the lights come on this verifies the chassis power wiring is in good condition. Try switching the lights OFF, ON LO and HI to verify the function of the light switch - if no lights, unplug the LH switch connector with the red/wht, yel and grn wires - with the red jumpered to red/wht at the key switch connector try jumping red/wht to grn for LO beam and red/wht to yel for HI beam on the headlights. If the lights work, then the problem is the wiring connectors or the LH switch assembly. If the lights don't work, then check the lights to assure they are not burned out and have a good ground.
