You have corrosion at the plug at the left handlebar switch where the loom plugs into the switch. Pull out both connectors clean and reinstall.

Is it possible that that YELLOW tape on that positive battery cable end is insluating the connection to the positive battery terminal. It looks like it is extending under the connection?

Is the OFF RUN OFF switch on the left handlebar in the RUN position?

Do you have a digital volt meter?

Your problem could also be the terminals inside the plug are corroded and not making the contact with the switch

I replaced the light switch and all is good. Thanks for your help.
