I have a 2013 Sportsman 500 and I just changed the oil for the 25 hour breakin.
What a chore to get the crankcase plug back in but I finally got it back in and now I'm having even a harder time loosening the oil tank fitting to check the screen.
Its extremely tight and I cant get it to budge...... fearing I will damage the tank.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Russ

I take my right floor board off every oil change, makes getting that plug out easier.

Unless you added oil buried in a mud pit, or wiped the dipstick off with dirt, no real need to touch the screen fitting.

I have 3,600 kms on mine, never touched the fitting.

Welcome aboard.

WilliamBos,
I did take the footrest off because it would have been just about impossible to get the crankcase plug thread started back in.
Another challenge was removing the oil tank fitting hose off the fitting but since I cant remove the fitting I'm done and I'm going riding.
I would still like to know how to get get that fitting off,the factory really really tightened that one up with loctite and I cant get enough leverage with limited movement and the tank moves.

Thanks Russ
