I have a 2013 Outlaw 50 and the battery went dead. I charged the battery and when I connected it back up the headlights would stay on without the key even being in the ignition. Could this be a bad ignition switch or the sensor for the brake being engaged required for starting?
I'm not very mechanically savvy so I'm a little lost.

I would check the ignition switch, Using an Multi Meter. there should be a constant 12volt hot going into the switch, then out of the switch there are your accessory wires that are only hot with key on, there are others for the start signal etc. I'm not sure of the color codes off the top of my head, you can probably find that online. then just check if those accessory wires have 12volt at them when the key is off. If that's true then the ignition switch needs to either be cleaned or just replaced.
