hey guys..i have a problem with my 99 magnum 500...i blew a hose one day and lost my coolant one day so i hauled it home..i took it to the dealer and they fixed the hose an topped it off..now my light keeps coming on sayin its over heating...my fan is working but it seems like my rad is blocked or something...when i go fast the light stays off but once i slow down on a narrow trail the light will come..its like its not gettin enough air goin slow..so would my rad be so dirty its blocking air and limiting the air when i go slow? any info would be good..

Probably still got a lil air pocket in the block, jack the front wheels way up or put the back wheels in a ditch, then remove radiator cap ,top off coolant, let run, recheck

I have this same problem with my magnum. it runs perfect when I first start riding, then it gets hot much faster than my friends' quads and it won't idle when its hot. I keep the coolant at the right level all the time and the oil. it seems like a fuel mixture issue or a coolant circulation issue??

anyone else have opinions on this??

Some of the older polaris are just a pain in the ass to get the air out. sometimes burping the cap when hot is the only way to get out the air. Or run it with the cap off till it pushes coolant out, reinstall cap and keep the overflow bottle full while the engine cools down. either way it has air in the system.
