I have a question about the over the tire tracks.
If you put them on and use the under the tire front skies, do you have to disconnect the front drive shaft? My 6x6 is a 1998, it's either in 2 wheel or when you push the button you get 6 wheel. So what's the advantage of tracks if your only turning 2 wheels. Couldn't you put some type of roller system on the ski so the front tires will turn, at least both sets of rear tires would work. Just asking because I don't know. Thanks.

If you put skis under the tires, then you don't want the front wheels to rotate - the advantage of tracks is more square inches of surface supporting the weight vs tires - more square inches of tread on top of the snow = more traction and less surface penetration. If you want the front wheels to drive, mount the skis inboard or outboard of the tires rigid to the frame and about 1/3 above the bottom of the tire, but how are you going to steer?
