Does anyone have a link, (or a manual they don't need) for a 1993 Trail Boss 250 4x4? Polaris doesn't respond to emails. Thanks.

I would like an owners manual specific to this bike.I'm waiting on a Haynes repair manual to come. I got it from a client. They rode it,and it wouldn't start the next time. It's sat for 4 years. It's not seized up. I'm not a mechanic. I can fix things once I know what's up though. Figured I'd start with the carb. I have it loose but can't get it free to clean it.

Ok... An "Owner's Manual" has very little if any useful information other than what all the buttons and switches do, a few safety tips and warnings for new riders and minimal maintenance info like what motor oil and spark plug to use. Other than that very limited info they're pretty much useless.
For any REAL information about the machine you need a Polaris Service and Repair Manual that contains all the information and specs about everything in and on the machine. The same manual used by dealership service techs.

Ok. Carbs out. Gonna clean it, change some hoses that are worn, change the oil, new plug, battery and air filter. There was no air filter in there. I'm thinking this will be an issue but I'm just wanting to do the minimal to see if starts. Other than the years of dirt to clean off, is there anything else you recommend that I should do at this step? I really appreciate the help from you guys. Thank you

I wouldn't run it without the filter. So, are you saying that it won't run at all without it? Because the guy I got it from said they rode it, parked it and it wouldn't start the next time he tried. I doubt he did any maintenance to it, it's dirty as hell. Just wondering now if he told me the whole story.

I may be misinterpreting his posts but my last suggestion about checking compression was because of his comments in posts #'s 21 and 23 about the machine's history and current condition. I get old machines in pretty often that have obviously been run with little or no air filtration and extremely nasty oil. It has become routine for me to check compression first thing when I see really bad oil and a torn up unsealed air filter with dirt in the intake.
