Hi new to the forum,

05 predator slipped timing chain twice. The second time I replaced it with a new one and now it won't start. Had no fire so I cut black wire going to CDI and got fire back. Carb was filthy so I cleaned it. I don't understand why it will not start. I seen on one forum they said they had the same problem so they took the timing chain back off and moved the timing chain one link and it fixed it. I went off the manual and lined up the 12 timing marks with the gold links. What could be the problem?

The spark issue is probably in the throttle cable adjustment since you were in the carb cleaning it. Easy to misadjust it on reassembly. Otherwise, as long as you got everything aligned properly on the cam chain it should be good to go. Try a little starting fluid in the carb to see if it will fire on that. Maybe it's got a carb issue now after messing with it.
