I have a 98 500 that had coolant in the oil. my first assumtion is that it was a blown head gasket. so i did a comp check that registered good. still persistant i tore down the top end, only to find the head gasket if perfect condition. ive been told to change the water pump mechanical seal, but ive also been told how unlikely it is that coolant could get into the oil from there. i bought the bike from a buddy, that had the bike "rebuilt". the bike ran hot on the first ride because the fan didnt kick on. he said that there was oil and coolant coming out of the over flow, but all the coolant ive let out of the bike was nice and green. is there any other way coolant could get in the oil. both the head and cylinder are unwarped. plz help.
