Could be a lot of things main switch, starter button, wires,fuses,and relay.

We don’t know how to check the compression, can try and check the spark. It ran great for the guy that owned it just a week ago. It took him a lot of pulls though. We are trying to get the electric start. Gas is good.

 

Where about are you located? Perhaps someone nearby to you could come over to have a look and help you.

i have a 92 trail boss 250 and i had the same issue but mine turned out to be the button but to rule out the buttion i cut the 2 power wires from the switch ( it diddnt matter that i cut them because i already ordered a new one) and i just toutched the wires togther and it turned over with no issue

I definitely agree with what everyone else has said thus far. I would check to make sure the spark plug is actually sparking, I've run into that before. The button could be a culprit as well, and It wouldn't hurt to check the starter itself too, if it turns over very weakly it could need replaced?

 

It's a two stroke - the rings probably need replaced - I replaced the rings in the one I had every year to keep it running strong and make it easy to start

 

We have checked the wires on both sides of the circuit breaker with an ohm meter, and there is power on both sides. The circuit breaker was open when we took it out. Traced the same wire all the way to the circuit board with an ohm meter and that was good also. We checked the wires going in and out of the starter switch and back to the circuitboard with an ohm meter and there and they are both good. The ground from the battery to the engine is connected and good and the ground strap from the engine to the frame is good. Any ideas on what to check next?
also why does the circuit breaker click (about every 30/40 seconds) when connected to the battery?
