A friend and I started rebuilding this(his) bike, a 1995 Polaris 400 xplorer. It ran great up until recently. I decided to tear the top end down and take a look at it. Seized up 6 points and had a stuck ring for starters.
We've premixed our own gas/oil with a 40:1 ratio. We've also plugged the oil line going to the reeds. He did not block off the rest of the lines, going to the pump. Also, when i checked the oil, it was dry.

There is next to no play in the crank, the rod doesn't have any play.
Water pump works well.
When turning the crank over, it makes the odd sound and shakes the engine slightly.
The sound is extremely consistant.

It would help if anyone had a manual for this engine, or even the 350l from earlier machines, as we will probley need to split the cases.
