Polaris 500 Sportsman won’t turn over
This has got me stumped. I changed the cam and adjusted the valves. But when I try to start it the starter turns over a couple of times then stops. If I take the plug out it cranks just fine. I can also get it to turn over by using the pull starter. I have replaced the starter but that didn’t help. Anyone got any ideas

Compression release assy?
Was the piston at TDC when the cam was timed?
It was the compression release. A little hard getting more tension on the spring but it turns over just fine now. Hopefully I can get it to start. I guess I now wave a spare starter. Thanks to all that repliedWas the piston at TDC when the cam was timed?
