My 570 Ranger starts great in this warm weather but fall is coming soon. When it's cold (anything under 40F), my Ranger is very hard to start. It has a fairly new fuel pump, and the valves are set correctly. Compression is over 120 PSI. Seems to spin fast. It will start and immediately die. After several of these episodes in will finally start, warm up and be fine until it sits and gets cold overnight. Ideas?

Whatever - TMAP, BMAP, TBAP, ECM, ECU, SSCB, PCM.............. all acronyms for devices with some being the same and some being similar, but all performing the same function for their location in the circuit. Even Polaris uses different designations for the same module.

On some models, the rec/reg is an LR30 module and the speed limiter is an LR49 module, on other models the speed limiter is an LR44 module - on another module the speed limiter is an LR44-2 module.

The customer calls it an ECM, the mechanic sees it as an SSCB as identified in the schematics and the parts man sees it as a CONTROL MODULE in the parts list. This is what makes it fun trying to figure out what each person is trying to describe.
