I'm plowing snow from my driveway.
Runs great in foreword but after running it for 20 min or so when i put it in reverse it won't accelerate.
It will also backfire when i try to accelerate.
If i push the shifter forward to the point it's almost out of gear (in neutral) it will run fine again.

Try pushing the yellow over-ride button on the left side of the handlebars.

Yeah, that’s what you need. It kills the power and therefore speed in reverse. Yellow over ride button on the left handlebar should get you back on track

I was anxious to try what you said but it backfired really hard and since then it turns over but won't fire.
What's up with that?

Sounds like a possible sheared flywheel key or perhaps a fouled spark plug - regardless I suspect an ignition problem
