I have a 2003 polaris 700 carb sportsman with a blown motor (it slung a rod out the side and spun the bearings in the crankcase). My question is I will have to get a new motor. The head is alright on it and was looking into buying a new motor I was wondering if anyone has done this before. Also would this improve any motor performance? Also why Im at it is it plausible to make the electronics in a newer 05-08 800 EFI work with the older system besides selling the bike buying a newer one at a minimal I will be putting a 800 motor with a 700 head and carb in it. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated. I have the 700 motor so any parts I need I can bum off of it and also Im highly mechanically inclined so swapping it should be no problem.
