I have a very modified 1996 Trailblazer that I built for fun with a cyclone top end bored to about 260cc, 36mm carb, aaen pipe, clutched for 3800rpm engagement and shift at 6900rpm etc. The stock cdi dumps timing early on the 1996. (still runs like mad) I bought a cyclone cdi. The wire colors are all the same but it wont start with the cyclone cdi on the 1996 engine. I'm stumped. Any help much appreciated.

A little history. The Polaris cyclone was a 1 year engine built in 1987. It put out about 30hp with a 36mm carb compared to the later 250's that put out about 22hp. The 1988 r/es had a 38mm carb but port timing and tune limited it to about 27hp. Mine pulls very good but I think that there's some on the table with a cdi that will not dump timing so early.
