Polaris Sportsman 570 EFI - Crank = No start

Hey all!

I've been at this issue for quite some time now. I've read through hundreds of forums but having a hard time finding a solution for the problem I'm experiencing.

I bought a 15' Sportsman 570 EFI off a guy. I used it for about 3 months, and then had no choice but to store it outdoors over this past winter due to lack of storage( PS - I live in Atlantic Canada, heavy snow and cold Temps over winter).

This spring, I took the tarps off of it and tried to start it but got nothing but a crank. The ATV won't start. Read through forums and so far I have replaced the battery, new spark plug, new solenoid. Yet still having the exact same issue with starting it.

When I go to start it, my battery voltage begins to drop (on the brand new battery) it will drop down as low as 7V. So I juice it back up, try starting it again, and receive the same result.

I did find a mouse nest in the air box... cleaned that out, put a new air filter on and checked the entire wiring system. I can't find any damaged wires from them that would appear to affect the startup.

Looking for some guidance on what I should do next.

I should also mention, the check engine light is on, but my yellow toggle switch will not operate my dashboard

Do you hear the fuel pump? They are notorious on pre-18 570's. You could spray some WD-40 into the throttle body and see if it makes some noise..That would let you know the ignition is working.

I don't hear that hum of the fuel pump when I turn the key on, does this mean the fuel pump is toast?

When would I hear it? My acc start up sounds normal as always. But when I turn the key to fire it up, it just cranks non stop until the battery is killed. I'll give this a try though, thank you for the reply!

Just realized my thumb throttle is tight too, I can't press it at all really. Could this have something to do with it?

Take your plastics off the fuel tank. My guess is the mice ate the wire loom that attaches to the fuel pump. Don't ask how I know that is a possibility. Mice will cause all type of wiring damage.

Thanks, I will check this out tomorrow. And you're probably right! My fuel pump is on the fritz, so you're probably bang on
