OK im looking into buying a 03 polaris sportsman 600, the guy said 1 of the connecting rods was going bad (he has the engine down) and i was looking on the parts diagrams and it doesn't seem like you could pull it apart to replace it, what the hell!!! And there doesn't seem to be any replacement parts on the net. Attached is the crank diagram

You are so correct. There is no replacement rods you have to buy an all new crankshaft. This is why I do not run the Polaris oil or filters.

I have run Amsoil for over 20 years with out any failures. I currently run it in every motor I own. I run K&N oil filters as they have a double synthetic media to filter the dirt better. If the Polaris was a good synthetic then they would give you specifications regarding the oil instead of simply try to sell you on the fact it will void your warranty if you do not run there products.
