I have a 2016 Polaris sportsman 850, I took a peek at the coolant reservoir and it looks brown or almost like oil instead of the normal antifreeze green also looks the same inside the radiator. what is the issue and how do I fix it?

You could have oil getting into the cooling system so the first thing to check is the engine oil. If it looks the same, then you have a problem. Otherwise, it could have just gotten nasty. Seems unlikely in only 4 years but it is possible. Test it for freeze protection and decide if you need to dump it and flush/refill the system.

Oil in the coolant means you need a good mechanic. I'm not sure but I think in that engine about the only way oil can get in the coolant is a bad head gasket. If I'm not mistaken problems with the water pump seal can put coolant in the oil but not the other way around. I'm not sure on that though.
I haven't run into that problem on one of those engines yet. Maybe latebird can enlighten us?
