I just purchased a used 06 Sportsman 90 quad for my son and something doesn't seem right. It is in like new condition. The stubs are still on the tires. He has to really rev the engine and wait on it to pull out from a stop. I would think it should start to move when the rpm comes just off of idle. I bought this from a Polaris dealer and they said this is normal. I pulled the plastic clutch cover and exposed the aluminum cover. I could see a small section of the belt and it looks dry and new from what I can tell. Should I buy a new belt? Is there an adjustment I can make? It doesn't look like a normal torque convertor. Does it possibly have a centrifical clutch that works with the primary and secondary clutches? I am a mechanic just don't know much about these quads. thanks

The dealer and this forum were no help so I traded it in on a Sukuki. No more Polaris quads for me. The Suzuki is great!
