Has anyone installed the polaris shut off accessory which utilizes the automatic magnet to shut off the winch so it doesnt damage the winch and pull the rope in too tight? I have the 3500 Polaris and was thinking of getting it so I don't damage my system.
Looks to be about $100 but worth it to not damage the winch.

Please advise
Thanks

No, do you have a link to what you're posting? I've never heard of it.

Interesting!!! I don't feel it's needed. Essentially it's a pressure switch. I would suggest just buying a good gerthy winch stopper. When you pull the cable in and the hook starts to compress against the stooper and fairlead you can hear the winch motor labor and then you stop pulling the line in. Also I jump off my wheeler and with one on the handle bar switch and the other on the line I spool the winch. So I really don't see the need for it whether on or off the machine pulling in the cable.

Now going out on a limb I could see this being sorta useful on a SxS. But that's a stretch. Especially considering it could become more of a liability then an asset.

Really! Huh that just eliminated the Polaris winch from the three I had in mind. Now the question is which Warn to I go with.

I have the auto stop on a RZR the only issue I have ever had was once I was powering the cable out and it got slack and started to spool up backwards, it did not shut off when the magnet/stopper reached the fairlead. It jammed up the winch really tight and I had to use a big channel lock plier to release the manual feed. The switch only cuts power on the retrieval circuit.
