ATVs towed away, prevented from taking part in fundraiser

A fundraiser for fire companies in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties was a bust after police stopped ATV riders from driving their vehicles to the event.

Hmm... Somebody dropped the ball there. The organizers should have anticipated that and coordinated with the neighboring townships and police agencies for escorts or something or to let participants know they would have to haul in and make arrangements for parking. We do ORV fundraiser events, rides and parades around here several times a year. The organizers always meet with the relevant town leaders, businesses, police, and anyone else affected weeks in advance to make arrangements for safety, traffic control, etc. Gotta have everyone is on the same page to avoid such problems.
