ok guys and gals im in need of some help. im looking at around a mid 90's Polaris Sportsman 4x4 two stroke 400. he has put 4 new tires and a new battery on and is asking 1200 obo. is this a good deal or should i try to get him down? and how much? thanks jamie

Always try to talk them down. I've never had good luck with any of the 2 stroke Polaris ATV's. And I've seen so many of them burn down from bad crank seals and cracked carb boots you couldn't give me one. Bit many have had them for lots of years with great performance and no serious issues.

grrrr that didnt help :chairfall:but i do appreciate your input. im gonna offer 800 but no more than 900.

Crank seals and carb boots aren't that hard of a thing to fix, just take some time. It's the burnt up piston and cylinder that sucks when it happens. IMO it would be good to replace them right away as a preventive measure. That's almost a 20 year old machine at this point.
